Richard Rotante, 57, has been sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Janet C. Hall in New Haven to 60 months in prison after pleading guilty in December last year to one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on Aug 18, last year, Rotante was arrested by members of the Stamford Police Department after he made three sales to a suspect who had been cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation.
On the day of his arrest, a search of Rotante's residence and two of his vehicle led to the seizure of approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, items used to process and package narcotics, and $68,923 in cash.
Rotante had previously spent a year in prison in 2007 when he was sentenced for a federal conviction for distributing cocaine in the area.
Rotante remains released on $150,000 bond and is due to report to prison on July 11.
